Zetes Group acquires the RFID expert: RFIDea

 

Liège, the 30th of May 2011 - As some of you may have already read or heard, Zetes (represented in 16 countries with a turnover of 216 million euro in 2010), the European leader in Automatic Identification Solutions and Services for goods and people, just acquired RFIDea.

 

RFIDea’s Team is extremely proud and happy to be part of this great group.

 

From the commercial point of view, Zetes has an existing sales network covering the four corners of Europe. This will greatly benefit RFIDea in its business development.

RFIDEA au cœur du système de paiement et d’identification du futur.

 

RFIDEA, start-up liégeoise d’identification et de traçabilité, démontre une fois encore son excellence en termes d’intégration et de développement de technologies de pointe. Elle est à la base du développement du système de paiement du futur pour le compte de la société Natural Security.

 

Natural Security (www.naturalsecurity.com) a vu le jour en 2008 et est aujourd’hui reconnue pour la mise au point de cette solution innovante d’authentification de paiement. Elle a pour actionnaires les plus grands comptes français : Banque Accord, BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole, Crédit Mutuel Arkéa, Groupe Auchan, Ingenico ou encore Leroy Merlin. Natural Security vient de mettre sur le marché un système de paiement révolutionnaire, celui du futur.

 

Ce système de paiement s’appuie sur une technologie sans contact utilisable à 2 mètres et est sécurisée via les données biométriques de l’utilisateur. Celui-ci, en se faisant identifier via son emprunte digitale ou via son réseau veineux, peut payer ses achats d’un seul doigt sur un terminal, en gardant simplement sa carte de paiement dans sa poche ou dans son sac.

 

Les technologies utilisées reposent à la fois sur un protocole de communication (802.15.4) destiné aux réseaux sans fil, avec une faible consommation et de portée limitée, ainsi que sur les dernières générations de capteurs biométriques.

 

Le développement de ce système s’inscrit dans une logique de protection des données personnelles et de la vie privée. L’utilisateur est le seul porteur des informations servant à l’authentification. Ces informations ne sont stockées que dans sa carte de paiement. Il n’y a pas de base de données centralisant les informations biométriques, ni de traçabilité possible des supports sur lesquels sont stockées les informations.

 

Dans le cadre de ce projet, RFIDEA a été en charge de toute la solution de communication sans fil et de l’intégration des composantes d’identification biométriques. Sa mission a porté sur la phase de réflexion technologique, la participation à l’écriture des spécifications et le développement de la solution proprement dite, tant au niveau Hardware que Software.

F1 SPA GP renew its confidence in RFIDEA’s team and solution for printing and sending all tickets as well as for the access control management during this prestigious event.

This is the 4th edition in a row that the organizers of the Belgian Grand Prix trust RFIDEA’s expertise to print, to program and to control more than 150,000 RFID tickets for this 3-days event with about twenty check points.

Let’s meet on August 27th, 28th and 29th on this Circuit that pilots themselves consider as one of the greatest in the world!

The RFIDEA software implemented during the Formula One Grand prix in Spa was nominated in the categories Best Use of RFID In a Product or Service .

SPA Grand Prix : The Belgian race organizer was picked for a system that enables it to reduce errors when it mails Grand Prix tickets to fans, while combating counterfeiting and improving attendees' experience at the race.
Parkway Corp. : The parking management company was selected for its vehicle identification system, which automated the process of managing vehicle access to Philadelphia International Airport , thereby reducing errors and improving revenue collection.
Vail Resorts : The leading North American ski resort operator was chosen for an RFID system that enhances the guest experience across its many resorts, reduces pass fraud and enables it to passively gather and aggregate behavioral information for improved customer segmentation.
